Lettera inviata da Genova il 4 dicembre 1860. De Notaris sta pensando alla stampa della sua opera sui Musci Italici. Avrebbe però bisogno di una sovvenzione da parte del ministro della Pubblica Istruzione cui ha inviato una supplica, poiché la stampa del testo e delle tavole si aggira sulle 8.000 lire. Anche l’Accademia potrebbe provvedere alla stampa; lui sarebbe disposto a cederne la proprietà e si accontenterebbe di ricevere una dozzina di esemplari per i suoi più cari amici. De Notaris ha informato di questi problemi anche il professore De Filippi.
