Lettera inviata da Firenze il 7 maggio 1866. Il viaggio in Maremma è andato in fumo, perché da qualche tempo scorrazza nella zona una banda di assassini. Vorrebbe andare via qualche giorno, ma non ha ancora deciso dove. Se Moris arrivasse a Firenze, saranno a sua disposizione i suoi giovani collaboratori Profeta, Bucci e Aiuti. Gasparrini è affetto da due malattie incurabili, tisi e diabete. Spiace a Parlatore che nessuno abbia scritto l’elogio di Tenore e di Gussone.
