Lettera di Briaux a Cesare Lombroso in cui gli espone le proprie riflessioni sul rapporto tra le attitudini delle persone e la loro conformazione fisica, dicendo che quest'ultima deriva strettamente dalla forma che le dà l'anima, che mantiene le caratteristiche fisiche del corpo fino alla morte della persona; poiché le razze umane sono strettamente legate alle razze animali, è logico che gli uomini possano presentare fattezze e attitudini che richiamano le varie specie animali
