La lettera accompagna un grosso pacco di libri che Moris dovrebbe fare avere a vari botanici italiani; la spedizione da Ginevra verso stati al di fuori del regno sardo è infatti estremamente difficile. Sono illustrati alcuni particolari circa la preparazione del Prodromus. De Candolle informa Moris che Boissier è ad Atene e Zollinger è in viaggio per Giava.
